TALL FOLDING CHAIRS AND TABLES

I currently make two types of folding chair which I am calling "Deck Chairs" and a less expensive version,  "Craft Show"  or "Vendors" Chairs

DECK CHAIRS
USE THEM ON YOUR DECK, BALCONY OR AS A COMFORTABLE BAR STOOL.

Most decks and balconies have rails which spoil the view when sitting in a regular chair. With a seat height of 28" these chairs will put you up high enough to see over the top.
They fold easily for storage or transport. ( I can get 6 of them into the back of my Volkswagen Golf ).

These chairs are made from Select Cypress and all fasteners are stainless steel. They are treated with a light cedar stain/waterproofing sealer but other options are available on request.
As opposed to the 3/4" stock used by most other makers, the legs of my chairs are a minimum 15/16" thick  which makes them much sturdier.
They feature a wide armrest and a comfortable footrest.
All edges are rounded over and carefully sanded for a smooth finish.

Folded dimensions. 45" H x 27" W x 9-1/2" Thick. Weight approx. 18lbs

CRAFT SHOW  VENDORS CHAIRS

These are similar to my deck chairs but without the footrest, with wider slats and sanded edges, they take less time to make so are less expensive. They are a little lighter and take up less space for transport.

I call these "craft show chairs" because versions of this type of folding chair can often be seen in use by vendors at art and craft shows throughout the country.

After our first show, with aching feet from standing up, and sore necks from sitting in low folding chairs, I decided that we just had to have some of these things. So.... into the workshop I went. Lots of sawdust and a goodly amount of trial and error resulted in my version seen here on this page.

Although heavier and more cumbersome to move around than regular canvas chairs they have great advantages e.g. They are easy to get into and out of. They put you at eye level with your customers so you don't feel you have to get out of it in order to hold a conversion. They are way more comfortable.

Folded dimensions. 45" H x 27" W x 5" Thick. Weight approx. 15lb

FOLDING TABLES

Made from 7/8" minimum Select Cypress. The table top is edge glued and I try to use wood with an attractive grain pattern.
My "stock" table is 24" square on the top and stands 36" high. Other sizes can be made to order.
They fold easily for storage or transport.

Folded dimensions. 41-1/2" H x 24" W x 4" Thick. Weight approx. 19lb

CRAFT SHOW CHAIRS

Shown here with narrow armrests. Future chairs will have the wider (3-1/2") armrests. Note the wider slats and more square look. Not quite as pretty but still comfortable, strong but quicker to build so are less expensive.
These chairs have been treated with clear waterproofing sealer.

A Custom Deck Chair and Table Set
This set is stained with a redwood deck stain. The chairs are made from pressure treated pine and the 33" square table is from deadhead cypress.

The chairs in the following two photos are made from 1" thick pressure treated yellow pine. The fasteners are all stainless steel.  These chairs have been stained with "Golden Pecan" stain/sealer. Good quality pressure treated lumber has become almost impossible to obtain in the US so these will now be custom order only.

These chairs are made from dead head black cypress with yellow pine slats. I wanted to preserve the natural colors of the wood so treated them with clear waterproofing deck sealer.
